The minute-long clip goes behind the scenes, showing footage of Larson training for the role: lifting weights, practicing combat, and more.
Director Anna Boden says, “Captain Marvel is about somebody who goes on a journey of discovery, and I think it was really important for Brie to learn how to fight.”
Then, Larson revealed that she trained for the role for nine months before filming even started. She also described her experience visiting an air force base and participating in a dog fight simulation that reached 6.5 g-force.
“The thing that I found most unique about this character was that sense of humor mixed with total capability in whatever challenge comes her way,” Larson says. “Which, I realized after going to the Air Force base, is really what air force pilots are like.”
