When Disney+ launches later this year, it will be the destination to watch all Disney affiliated movies, from classic animations to the hottest superhero flicks. Captain Marvel will be the first title held back from Netflix to live on Disney’s streaming service instead. Disney+ will also be the only place to stream Avengers: Endgame, so Netflix better crank out something good to keep up with the Joneses.
Disney CFO Christine McCarthy estimates the opportunity from this and other 2019 releases will create a profit hit of $150 million this year alone, Deadline reports.
The public can expect a demo of the Disney+ app and more details about its financial impact on April 11. There is no official launch date for the streaming service, but it is supposed to come out at the end of this year.
