The Her Universe Fashion Show puts geek couture on display with pop culture-inspired fashion, like last year’s Funko POP! gown made out of 500 Jack Skellington heads. Every year, designers can compete with their original designs for a chance to win the opportunity to design a Her Universe fashion collection for Hot Topic alongside Her Universe founder Ashley Eckstein. This year’s event will be Her Universe’s 6th annual show, held on the opening night of San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC).
Designer registration is now open for both the Her Universe Fashion Show and the Her Universe Junior Fashion Design Competition. All submissions for the Her Universe Fashion Show must be “Geek Couture” fashion, not a costume, and can be based on anything that is celebrated at Comic-Con. All submissions for the Her Universe Junior Fashion Design Competition must be “Ready to Wear” fashion, not a costume, and must be based off Cartoon Network’s animated series Steven Universe. Any of the characters from the show can be used. The deadline for all entries is April 19, and finalists will be announced individually via e-mail. Designers can sign up here.
