Johnny Flynn is set to star as a young David Bowie in Stardust, an upcoming biopic about the late musician’s first U.S. visit in 1971. Jena Malone will play his then-wife Angie, and Marc Maron will join the cast as Bowie’s record company publicist.
Bowie’s son, Duncan Jones, shares his thoughts on the film on Twitter, “As it stands, this movie won’t have any of dads music in it, & I can’t imagine that changing.” He went on to add that the film does not have his or his family’s blessing.
Flynn can be seen next in an upcoming Jane Austen adaptation titled Emma, starring Anya Taylor-Joy.
