Grave Decay
George R.R. Martin is making headlines, but it’s not for Game of Thrones.’
Thursday, at Comic-Con International: San Diego, the Syfy Channel hosted a panel with cast and crew from the upcoming series, Nightflyers. They even blessed us with a trailer.
The show, which is based on one of Martin’s very own novellas, follows a space crew as they encounter interstellar horrors. In the trailer, we learn that planet Earth is dying, and a space team must venture further into space than anyone has ever gone before in order to save it. As most space horror shows go, things don’t go according to plan.
Martin’s book was originally optioned for film in 1987, and so this series is an adaptation of that film. Martin also made note that the new series would pay tribute to the original work.
