Aconyte Books is taking gaming to a whole other level.
The publisher announced the first two books in a brand-new, non-fiction series called Play to Win. This range of non-fiction titles will focus on the wide world of games and gaming. The series promises to entertain, inform, and intrigue gamers, as well as the general public.
Everybody Wins: Four Decades of the Greatest Board Games Ever Made follows the recent revolution in tabletop gaming. Fans will get an inside and informative look at the winners of the Game of the Year award, known in the gaming space as the Oscars of tabletop gaming. Author James Wallis investigates the winners and losers of the contest in order to analyze the boom in new board games. He discusses modern classics such as CATAN, Ticket to Ride, and Dixit, as well as childhood favorites. In tandem with the book, Wallis also recorded a podcast series.
Rokugan: The Art of Legend of the Five Rings chronicles art and illustration from the Japanese-inspired fantasy realms of Rokugan, the backdrop for the Legend of the Five Rings (L5R) series of games. This hardcover art book shows the Emerald Empire as it is captured in an age of strife and upheaval. The book displays iconic pieces from the L5R roleplaying and collectible card games that are presented in full glory with never-before-seen images.
These first two titles will launch this fall. Aconyte Books plans to release an entire series of in-depth, non-fiction titles throughout the year. Stay tuned!
