Passengers on Alaska Airlines can go “higher, further, faster” for real. Ahead of the release of Marvel Studios’ Captain Marvel on March 8, the airline unveiled a special-edition plane featuring uniquely heroic livery. The Captain Marvel–themed 737-800, tail number N531ASd made its debut at Sea-Tac International Airport in Seattle at a gate celebration for guests flying to Orange County, California. The plane joins the Alaska Airlines fleet and begins flying throughout its work route today.
In Captain Marvel, Brie Larson portrays Carol Danvers, a United States Air Force pilot who becomes a Kree warrior and hero. Those lucky enough to fly aboard the Captain Marvel plane will see a film logo when they board, and those seated over the wings will see a surprise image of Captain Marvel’s feline sidekick, Goose.
For those curious, the 737-800 has a top speed of 530 mph, and will fly cross-country and to Hawaii.
