AMC Theatres is trying something new and hooking up with Facebook to sell tickets directly on the social media platform.

Facebook launched a new ticketing feature that allows users to search for movies by location and showtime, similar to Moviefone. Once users make their selection, they can choose the AMC ticketing platform, which will redirect them to the AMC Theatres page to complete the transaction.

The service has been introduced at a handful of AMC locations in the U.S. and will be available for all AMC locations shortly. AMC’s online ticketing fees will be waived for users who buy the tickets through Facebook as an introductory promotion.

This is not Facebook’s first rodeo. The social media platform also has movie ticket programs with Fandango and Atom Tickets.
