Our Bat-Signals must be working, because Gotham City’s iconic hero is returning to episodic, animated television with a new series from Cartoon Network and HBO Max called Batman: Caped Crusader.

The executive producer team behind this animated series is seriously stacked, with Bruce Timm (who worked on Batman: The Animated Series), J.J. Abrams, and Matt Reeves.

Nearly 30 years after the success of Batman: The Animated Series, this new show will be a “reimagining of the Batman mythology.” Warner Bros. Animation, Bad Robot Productions, and 6th & Idaho are set to produce the show, which Cartoon Network and HBO Max greenlit straight to series.

While this news is exciting for DC fans on its own, it isn’t the only animated super show that HBO Max and Cartoon Network announced today. The networks also revealed a two-season order for My Adventures with Superman, an animated series for kids and families.

Produced by Warner Bros. Animation, the show will follow the comedic and romantic adventures of Superman and Lois Lane in their 20s, as they and their best friend Jimmy Olsen work together as an investigative reporting team for the Daily Planet and as Clark builds his secret Superman identity.

Jack Quaid (The Boys) and Alice Lee (Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist) will voice Clark Kent and Lois Lane, respectively.

Neither of these animated series has a release date at this time, so stay tuned for additional details!
