Bohemian Rhapsody still dominated in theaters during its third weekend, proving that the Queen biopic and 20th Century Fox truly are the (box office) champions.
Despite losing its No. 1 spot to Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald and The Grinch, Bohemian Rhapsody accumulated almost $128 million in domestic box office sales. Including international sales, the movie made about $384 million total.
This makes the Queen biopic the second-highest grossing music biopic of all time, according to Rolling Stone. It passed 2005’s Walk the Line and is now only behind 2015’s Straight Outta Compton (which grossed $161 million domestically).
The film also out-performed several new box-office additions this weekend, including Steve McQueen’s Widows and the heartwarming family comedy, Instant Family.
