After two seasons on the young adult-driven Disney network, Marvel’s Cloak & Dagger has been canceled by Freeform, according to a Deadline exclusive.

A rep for Freeform stated, “We are so proud of Marvel’s Cloak & Dagger and the trailblazing stories this series told. We are also grateful to our incredible talent Oliva Holt and Aubrey Joseph for bringing these beloved characters to life, and showrunner Joe Pokaski for his vision. We’d like to thank our partners at Marvel Television for a wonderful two seasons and we are hopeful that we can find another project together.”

The Marvel series followed teenagers Tandy Bowen (Holt) and Tyrone Johnson (Joseph), emerging superheroes whose newly activated powers are mysteriously connected.

This announcement comes after Marvel Studios President and MCU Supreme Leader Kevin Feige adds a chief creative officer title to his role. With Feige at the helm of all Marvel creative, future restructuring might affect Marvel Television, as well as all other Marvel creative endeavors.

Freeform and Marvel are both subsidiaries of Disney.
