Get ready to hop into your DeLorean and go back in time — to 1985, to be exact — because Back to the Future is celebrating its 35th anniversary.

Universal has plans for a year-long celebration, which include new merch, events, and digital content. The anniversary year is kicking off a bit early, specifically so it could start on Oct. 21 (the future date Marty McFly travels to in the movie).

The new merch is coming throughout the next year, including a new collection of toys from Playmobil — launching in May — that features characters and vehicles from the series. There will be new Funko Pop! figures, a themed board game from Ravensburger, and other products (to be announced) from Hasbro, Mattel, and 3D Retro Collectibles. There are plenty of lifestyle products coming, too, from partners such as Criminal Damage, Box Lunch, Hot Topic, Primark, Super 7, and Zara.

Fans can also add some time-traveling goodness to their bookshelves, with new books from Running Press and Insight Editions and a new comic series from IDW Publishing.

There will be plenty of events to commemorate the anniversary, too, including a theatrical event and a 12-week run of Back to the Future the Musical at the Manchester Opera House, starting in February.

A lot of this is happening in the future (haha), but fans can start off the celebration today with a Back to the Future episode of a new web series titled Could You Survive the Movies. Check it out below, and keep watching the Back to the Future Facebook page for more anniversary info!
