In honor of National Polka Dot Day on Jan. 22, Mickey: The True Original Exhibition is unveiling a new art piece inspired by the polka-dot queen herself: Minnie Mouse.

Mickey: The True Original Exhibition is an immersive, pop-up art exhibition in NYC, inspired by Mickey Mouse and his global impact on pop culture and art over the past 90 years. Curated by Los Angeles-based designer Darren Romanelli, the exhibition features exclusive original artwork from contemporary artists including Kenny Scharf, Katherine Bernhardt, Amanda Ross-Ho, and more.

Artist Alake Shilling, a Los Angeles-based painter and ceramicist, created the Minnie-inspired piece exclusively for the Exhibition, where it will be integrated into the “Burst into Color” room. Shilling is known for her textured works that borrow elements of nature to produce psychedelic fable worlds.

Fans can see the new Minnie-inspired piece and meet the artist at a special event at the exhibition on Jan. 22. A limited number of tickets are available here.
