The Yu-Gi-Oh! Championship Series (YCS) is heading to Knoxville, Tennessee, for the first time ever to mark the end of the 2018-19 dueling season.

The weekend will be packed with public events, including 2019 Regional Qualifiers, Ultimate Duelist Series Qualifiers, 3 vs. 3 Team Tournaments, and two Attack of the Giant Card events. YCS will go down from June 1 to 2 at the World’s Fair Exhibition Hall, where duelists can play the iconic trading card game from Konami Digital Entertainment under the new Advanced Format. Plus, the new Dark Neostorm core booster is set to make its tournament debut, too. What’s more, all duelists will receive five booster packs when they register.

Pre-registration begins at 3 p.m. on Friday, May 31, and all duelists who register and submit their valid duel list on Friday will receive one of the millennium dice. Duelists can also purchase a Kuriboh headband during registration.

The top eight winners will take home a YCS-branded messenger bag for dueling in style, and the top three winners will receive the Championship Series prize card Chaos Emperor, the Dragon of Armageddon, in their decks. However, the first-place winner will get the ultra-rare version of the card while the second- and third-place winners will get the super-rare version.

The first place winner will also win paid travel and accommodations to the North American World Championship Qualifier (WCQ) in Pittsburgh a few weeks later, including VIP status and a YCS trophy. Prizes for all finalists at WCQ include Yu-Gi-Oh! Championship Series prize cards, PlayStation 4 Pro 1 TB systems, Yu-Gi-Oh! Championship Series top cut game mats, and ultimate duelist series points.

All the Dragon Duel Deetz

Players born 2006 and later can also sign up for two Dragon Duel tournaments; they can play in either tournament using the Advanced Constructed Format with their own decks. Those who don’t own their own deck can compete with one of two random Speed Duel Starter Decks in a free, non-championship competition.

Dragon Duel finalists will also win invitations to the 2019 Dragon Duel World Championship Qualifier. The winning duelist from Saturday will compete against Sunday’s winner in a best-of-three match. The YCS Knoxville Dragon Duel Champion will win a Dragon Duel Championship trophy and a super-rare set of the Darklords YCS prize cards. All participants in the free tournaments will take home the Speed Duel Starter Decks they compete with.

New Booster Packs Are on the Way

Following YCS Knoxville, Konami will release the Fists of the Gadgets 60-card foil booster set. The new booster pack will have 40 super-rare cards along with 20 secret-rare cards. Popular monster theme The Brotherhood of the Fire Fist will return with this pack. Fists of the Gadgets will also debut 11 new cards for Fire Fist desks, including Link Monsters to skip paying costs and a Ritual Monster that seeks out Fire Formations and negates monster effects.

Duelists with Micro-Coder, Progleo, and Cynet Codec from the Legacy of the Duelist: Link Evolution game will find more than 10 new cards for Cyberse decks that work together with them. There will also be two new Code Talker monsters and four new alternate universe versions of Summoned Skull (Fusion, Synchro, Xyz, and Ritual monster).
