Cryptozoic Entertainment and Warner Bros. are joining in fellowship to release CZX Middle-earth — a set of trading cards featuring all your favorite characters from The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit trilogies.

Both characters and scenes from the movies are front and center on these glossy trading cards. The collection includes a 50-card base set, a film cel chase set, a CZX STR PWR chase set, and hand-drawn sketch cards. To top it all off, there are autograph cards that feature signatures from many of the trilogy’s actors, as well as director Peter Jackson.

The base set is the perfect foundation for your precious card collection. The cards feature images from the movies, decorated with gold foil accents.

The film cel chase set has cards designed to evoke the feeling of actual film cels from the movies, with gold outlining and a film- strip pattern. The CZX STR PWR chase set, meanwhile, features characters on foil board, with border colors that denote different rarity levels of the cards.

The sketch cards spotlight hand-drawn art of Lord of the Rings characters from a number of artists, including Carlos Cabellero, David Day, Angelo De Capua, Yinshan, KangLe, Fan Sichen, Rhiannon Owens, Stephanie Rosales, Bob Stevlic, and HeNan San Pang. Each artist’s unique style is highlighted with each character sketch, from an intensely detailed Gollum to a ready-for-action Bilbo.

The autograph cards feature authentic autographs from actors including Ian McKellen (Gandalf), Orlando Bloom (Legolas) Viggo Mortensen (Aragorn), John Rhys-Davies (Gimli), Evangeline Lilly (Tauriel), Liv Tyler (Arwen), Dominic Monaghan (Merry), Billy Boyd (Pippin), Mirando Otto (Éowyn), Bernard Hill (Théoden), and Manu Bennett (Azog). As with many trading cards, rarity is also an element here. The rare triple autograph card — as well as the even more difficult-to-find quadruple autograph card — is sure to give collectors a challenge.

With all these cards to collect, fans might also be tempted to pick up the matching card binder that also includes an exclusive film cel card. Cryptozoic Entertainment will be releasing the CZX Middle-earth Trading Cards on Oct. 19 at hobby store locations. Each box will include six packs, with five cards in each pack.
