Ten years is upon us since Christian Bale and Heath Ledger faced off as Batman and the Joker in The Dark Knight. To celebrate its 10th anniversary, Warner Bros. Pictures is re-releasing the Christopher Nolan film in four select IMAX theaters in New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Toronto to show the iconic superhero and villain in all their glory.

The Dark Knight was nominated for eight Academy Awards and won two—one for best sound editing to Richard King and one for best actor in a supporting role posthumously to Heath Ledger.

It was the first major movie to use IMAX 70mm film, which has become a Nolan staple in movies like The Dark Knight Rises, Inception, Interstellar, and Dunkirk.

The following theaters will screen The Dark Night in IMAX 70mm once a day beginning Friday, Aug. 24:

  • AMC Lincoln Square IMAX, New York City
  • AMC Universal Citywalk IMAX, Universal City
  • AMC Metreon IMAX, San Francisco
  • Ontario Place Cinesphere, Toronto

The re-release will be limited to a one-week showing and tickets for opening day go on sale Friday, July 20.
