Stargirl is set to return in a new series that will air on DC’s recently-announced video streaming service, DC Universe.

DC Universe is expected to be a one-stop-shop for all of your DC content viewing needs, offering new content exclusive to the service. Former DC chief creative officer Geoff Johns will return to work on Stargirl, one of the first characters he ever created for DC Comics. Talk about coming full circle.

If you’re not familiar with the DC hero, her name is Courtney Whitmore, and she is the stepdaughter of the Star-Spangled Kid and closely associated with The Justice Society of America. Stargirl was based loosely on Johns’ sister, and the new series is set to follow a teenage Whitmore as she teams up with the Justice Society.

The 13-episode series is expected to make its big debut next year.
