The What If? Zombie Minimates Box Set includes six posable figures | Source: Diamond Select Toys/the Pop Insider

Marvel’s animated Disney+ series What If…? has taken comic book fans through all kinds of hypothetical MCU scenarios — including a world where the Avengers face a zombie outbreak! Now, Diamond Select Toys is launching a What If? Zombie Minimates Box Set to commemorate that episode, to continue celebrating the 40th anniversary of Diamond Comic Distributors, and to mark the 20th anniversary of the Minimates line.

Minimates, for those who may not be familiar, are a series of 2-inch, blocky action figures. The line has included 19 consecutive years of Marvel Minimates (with the 83rd wave of Marvel Minimates — starring the Fantastic Four — slated to drop on July 20).

This new, six-piece anniversary set, based on the episode “What if… Zombies?!,” includes four zombified characters that are green and full of gore — Zombie Captain America, Zombie Iron Man, Zombie Doctor Strange, and Zombie Wanda — and two non-zombie figures:  Zombie Hunter Spider-Man and Scott Lang’s Head in a Jar.

Each figure (besides Scott Lang’s Head in a Jar) has several points of articulation to pose the living and the zombie characters in a battle against each other. Zombie Captain America and Zombie Doctor Strange come equipped with removable accessories (Cap’s shield and Doctor Strange’s spells) that the figures can hold in their hands. All six figures come packaged in a hexagonal blister card.

The What If? Zombie Minimates Box Set will be available in stores this fall for $50 and is available to preorder on diamondselecttoys.com.
