It’s time to party D&D style with music, comedy, and even a bit of Star Trek.
Put on your favorite PJs for the virtual Dungeons & Dragons (D&D) Celebration event this weekend. From Sept. 23-26, the D&D community will come together to celebrate the release of The Wild Beyond the Witchlight, as well as to preview Fizban’s Treasury of Dragons (Oct. 19) and Strixhaven: A Curriculum of Chaos (Nov. 16). The event will feature the first official D&D musical, as well as other unique campaigns.
“Disco Does D&D” is not, in fact, a ‘70s-themed campaign in which elves get down tonight. But it is the next best thing. Anthony Rapp, Mary Wiseman, Blu del Barrio, and Ian Alexander from Star Trek: Discovery will play D&D along with the special guest Wil Wheaton and the DM Noah Averbach-Katz. This will air at 11 a.m. PT on Friday, Sept. 24.
The first official D&D musical will also take place (a bard breaking into song to save the day doesn’t actually count as a musical) during this virtual event, at 4 p.m. PT on Saturday, Sept. 25. The Circus of Sound will feature Anthony Rapp, Jason Charles Miller, Azie Dungey, Vico Ortiz, and Mariah Rose Faith. Kelly Lynne D’Angelo will DM the magical, musical event.
End the weekend with a deeper look at the future of the brand with the Future of D&D panel hosted by Liz Schuh, Ray Winninger, Chris Perkins, and Jeremy Crawford, which is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. PT on Sunday, Sept. 26.
