Today is a great day because Diamond Select Toys (DST) and Gentle Giant have dropped a slew of new items for preorder! Collectibles from Marvel, Star Wars, and Transformers have hit the virtual shelves for preorder.
Although we’re all waiting for the Thor: Love and Thunder trailer to come out, Gentle Giant’s new Marvel Animated Style Mighty Thor Statue ($49.99, pictured above left) makes the wait slightly better. This 5-inch resin statue shows young Jane Foster as Thor, based on the variant cover artwork of Skottie Young. This statue is limited to 3,000 pieces and comes with a certificate of authenticity in a full-color box.
For Star Wars fans, the Star Wars The Return of the Jedi Yoda Legends in 3D 1:2-Scale Bust ($150, pictured above right) depicts the Jedi Master as the latest Legend in 3D. This approximately 9-inch resin bust shows Yoda as he appeared in Return of the Jedi, atop a miniature replica of his Dagobah home. This figure is limited to 1,000 pieces and comes packaged in a full-color box with a letter of authenticity.
The Marvel Animated X-Men Storm 1/7 Scale Mini-Bust ($69.99) continues DST’s Animated Series line of mini-busts with the highly requested Storm! Dressed in her trademark white suit and holding a ball of lightning, this 6-inch weather-manipulating mutant is limited to 3,000 pieces. She features detailed sculpting and cartoon-painted applications and comes packaged in a full-color box with a certificate of authenticity.
With the news that the Fantastic Four is joining the MCU, things have heated up quickly! The Marvel Premier Collection Human Torch 1:7 Scale Statue ($199) shows the Human Torch on a pillar of translucent flames, reaching a height of more than 14 inches tall. This Johnny Storm figure is limited to 3,000 pieces and comes with a certificate of authenticity.
Heading back to a galaxy far, far away, the Star Wars The Attack of the Clones Padme Amidala Premier Collection 1:7 Scale Statue ($199) shows the Nabooan queen-turned-Senator Padme Amidala as she charges into battle. Carrying a blaster as she escapes from her chains in the arena on Geonosis, this 9-inch statue features the likeness of Natalie Portman.
To round out the Star Wars offerings, there is a new Star Wars Concept Luke Skywalker 12-inch Jumbo Figure ($80). This oversized figure features Luke Skywalker in his original (and unused), mask-wearing style. This figure features five points of articulation and includes a white-bladed lightsaber. The Jedi is packaged in a retro-style card back with a resealable clamshell blister.
Lastly, the Transformers Minimates Series 2 Box Set ($29.99) pits the Autobots against the Decepticons in a new four-pack of Transformers Minimates. Autobots Grimlock and Blaster go against Decepticons Megatron and Soundwave in the second series this DST line. Each 2-inch mini-figure is fully poseable and interchangeable so fans can mix and match to design their own robot. The Generation-1 style characters come packaged on a full-color blister card and with a weapon.
