The Runaways have some stuff to deal with when the third season returns to Hulu, and clearly, they’re going to need some help to save the world.
On Instagram yesterday, the super teens revealed that the new season will feature a crossover episode with Freeform’s Marvel’s Cloak & Dagger. The video pulled back to reveal all six Runaways together (um, is that a spoiler???) and sitting side by side with Olivia Holt and Aubrey Joseph (who play Tandy and Tyrone AKA Dagger and Cloak, respectively), who’ve trekked from New Orleans to help save the day.
It seems like the TV crossover that Marvel fans have been waiting for is actually happening. The Divine Pairing will cross paths with the teen Runaways when the series returns on Dec. 13.
“It’s so fun being able to do something that revels in the Mighty Marvel Manner! Having these young heroes crossover allows fans of both shows to see the adventure everyone has been waiting for and we’ve only hinted at,” said Jeph Loeb, executive producer and head of Marvel Television, in a statement.
By the end of last season on Marvel’s Runaways, we saw the Runaways splinter off into different directions to varying degrees of peril. Gert and her pops took dino Old Lace on the run while Chase, his mother, and Karolina were captured by the alien enemies. That left Alex, Nico, Molly, and Leslie (and her fetus) alone with alien refugee Xavin in the hostel to figure out what went wrong.
Then, over on the season finale of Cloak & Dagger, things concluded when Tyrone and Tandy hopped a bus out of New Orleans to help out other parts of the country. I mean, the Runaways in Los Angeles could definitely use some help right now, especially with the nefarious Morgan le Fay (Elizabeth Hurley) on the loose.
Further details about marvel-ous crossover between the teen superheroes have yet to be revealed.
