Bandai Namco Entertainment America Inc. and Twitch announced the return of the Tekken World Tour. Like the last tour, Twitch will be the exclusive streaming destination for fans to watch the competitive gaming league, and will be the managing partner for Tekken 7 league operations, circuit events, and content.
In its third tournament season, the Tekken World Tour will have new locations and new tournament categories for players to earn Tekken World Tour Ranking Points. There will also be a prize pool of more than $185,500 with a $100,000 baseline purse for the Tekken World Tour Finals.
The tournament categories will include Master+, Master, Challenger, and the brand new Dojo tournaments. The Ranking Points available at Dojo tournaments will scale based on tournament size.
Points earned at Tekken World Tour tournaments are awarded according to players’ tournament placements. Each placement at a Tekken World Tour tournament is worth a different number of Ranking Points. Players’ point aggregation will be taken from their best three results from Master+ or Master events, best three results from Challenger events, and best four results from Dojo events. At the end of the year, the top 19 players awarded the most Tekken World Tour Ranking Points will be invited to compete at the Tekken World Tour Finals.
The tour kicks off on April 20 at Mixup in Lyon, France, and continues with stops across the U.S., in Toronto, and internationally in Japan, Malaysia, South Korea, Australia, Dubai, UK, Germany, Poland, Italy, Argentina, Peru, South Africa, Thailand, and more.
