Were you at Power-Con this past weekend?

If so, there’s a solid chance that you may have seen an early sneak preview of what we’re about to show you today.

Last year, The Nacelle Co. revealed plans to relaunch the Power Lords, and it’s finally happening this fall! Following last week’s look at the upcoming Sectaurs relaunch, the Nacelle crew dropped the curtain on a pair of characters from its Power Lords line of action figures.

At Power-Con, a slideshow of early renders was presented during a Saturday afternoon panel while unpainted prototypes were on display at The Nacelle Co.’s booth. The Pop Insider, together with our sister publication, the Toy Book, has an exclusive closer look at some of the assets shown over the weekend. It’s important to note that there are slight differences between the digital renders and the physical prototypes of Shaya and Arkus and that everything is subject to change.

“Power Lords is another big step in our mission to celebrate nostalgic brands and introduce them to a new generation of pop culture fans worldwide while satisfying the old fans like all of us here too,” says Nacelle Co. Founder and CEO Brian Volk-Weiss.

Power Lords: The Extra-Terrestrial Warriors was a toy line launched in 1983 by Revell, the company known for scale model kits. Eager to follow the success of Mattel’s He-Man and the Masters of the Universe and the popularity of Star Wars, the company entered the action figure aisle with Power Lords, a new brand with a name suspiciously close to the original name for Masters of the Universe — Lords of Power — dashed with a tagline that was still on everyone’s mind following Steven Spielberg’s 1982 hit, E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial.

Power Lords was created by Ned Strongin and Len Mayem who brought sci-fi/fantasy author Wayne Douglas Barlowe on board to help with characters and designs. The line led by the heroic Adam Power was licensed to Revell and featured 10 action figures, four vehicles, one creature, and the Volcan Rock playset. Revell also worked with licensing partners, including Philips, Magnavox, and Coleco to create Power Lords video games for the ColecoVision and Odyssey2 gaming systems while Warren Games produced a traditional board game. Additionally, DC Comics published a Power Lords limited series.

The Nacelle Co.’s first wave of Power Lords action figures will go up for preorder at nacellestore.com on October 11.

Over the past few years, The Nacelle Co. has branched out as a diversified media company. Known for its comedy specials and TV series, including Netflix’s The Toys That Made Us and the multiplatform A Toy Store Near You, The Nacelle Co. now produces podcasts, is involved in publishing, and has been building a robust portfolio of licensed brands to develop across its growing toy division.
