Wētā Workshop’s Mini Epics may be small, but they are mighty and packed with details! And here at The Pop Insider, we have a first look at two new, limited-edition vinyl figures from the line that are launching for preorder this week, in conjunction with New York Comic Con (NYCC).

The two new Mini Epics feature Samwise Gamgee as seen in The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King and a Wounded Demogorgon from Stranger Things.

The Samwise figure depicts the heroic Hobbit brandishing the Light of Aärendil and the Elvish blade Sting, holding up the light as he prepares to save Frodo from the clutches of Shelob within the Pass of Cirith Ungol. The large-footed figure will be limited to 3,000 pieces.

There will be even fewer of the Wounded Demogorgon figure for fans to buy, with the collectible limited to just 2,000 pieces. The figure is inspired by the scene from Stranger Things Vol. 1 when Nancy, Jonathan, and Steve fight the Demogorgon. The figure is painted with a unique texture to replicate scorch marks, and the sharp bear trap hangs from the monster’s foot.

Both figures were sculpted by Wētā Workshop’s Mini Epics art director, Mauro Santini. They will be available from wetanz.com starting this Friday, Oct. 7, at 9 a.m. NZT (in ET, that’s Oct. 6 at 5 p.m.!). These limited-edition figures join the larger Mini Epics line, which offers figures for The Lord of the Rings, Stranger Things, Tomb Raider, and more.
