Brooklyn needs protecting and we know just the guy(s) to do it.

The latest trailer just dropped for Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, from Sony Pictures Entertainment, and it is stunning in every sense of the word.

The newest Spider-Man movie, due out later this year, is a 3-D animated feature-length film featuring Miles Morales (Shameik Moore), who discovers his Spidey powers and trains to become the next masked hero, with lots of help from none other than Peter Parker (Jake Johnson), who is looking a little rough around the edges these days.

And the fun doesn’t stop with this less-than-dynamic duo. There are even more spider-enhanced mutants in store, including Spider-Gwen, who fans will be delighted to see make an appearance. As the trailer points out, “In your universe, there’s only one Spider-Man. But there’s another universe that looks and sounds like yours—but it’s not.”

Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, the creative minds behind The LEGO Movie and 21 Jump Street, present fans with a Spider-Man movie featuring a unique visual style. It looks like a moving, hand-painted comic book and it’s incredibly beautiful. With bold and striking colors, whimsical brush strokes, and movements that feel nostalgically simple, this film is truly a work of art.

So, what do we know about Miles? He’s just a normal kid trying to grow up. His dad is a cop with a lot of love to give. He’s got some pretty cool superpowers, and a probably horrible mentor (What happened to you, Peter? We have questions.). And, of course, he’s on a journey to save the world.

Due in theaters on Dec. 14, it looks like there is a lot of fun in store with this film, including some adorably meta jokes about cosplayers at Comic-Con thrown in, just for kicks.
