Jump on the Battle Bus and get pumped because season eight of Fortnite Battle Royale has arrived.
The season, which launched today, includes a new theme centered around a “monstrous volcano.” The newly released, now-powerful Prisoner is free from the Ice King’s castle and has brought fire and flame to Fortnite and its islands.
The theme includes pirates, ninjas, and new fighters who will battle over treasure, utilize Pirate Cannons, and uncover new loot. There are also new locations for players to explore, including Lazy Lagoon and Sunny Steps. Fortnite released a cinematic trailer announcing the theme.
A new season also means a new Battle Pass, which players can purchase for 950 V-bucks. The pack includes the Blackheart and Hybrid progressive outfits, available instantly, and more than 100 exclusive rewards you have to unlock. Players who completed the 13 free Overtime Challenges during the Share the Love event can claim a free Season 8 Battle Pass at the Battle Pass tab or upgrade to a Battle Bundle at a discount.

There is also a new feature in season eight called Party Assist. Before a match, players can pick a daily or weekly challenge and recruit friends to help complete it.
