Frogger has been an arcade game staple for nearly 40 years, but now the iconic street-crossing frog is hopping off-screen for some analog gameplay!
Today, Konami Cross Media announced that it has partnered with Home Run Games and Ultra Pro for two new Frogger-inspired games.
First up is a series of Frogger playing card decks from Home Run Games, which fans can expect to launch in time to be perfect stocking stuffers this holiday season. The deck features limited-edition Frogger packaging, too (pictured top, left).
Then, in celebration of Frogger’s milestone anniversary in 2021, Ultra Pro is developing a board game based on the classic title. That is expected to *leap* onto shelves during the second quarter of next year.
“We are pleased to expand the Frogger merchandise lineup with these two companies who understand the importance of competitive play – be it sports or video games – to our fan base,” says Jennifer Coleman, vice president of licensing and marketing at Konami Cross Media. “We look forward to introducing these items that we hope will keep families entertained during these stressful times with one of their favorite iconic gaming characters.”
