Funko has just made collecting two times easier by combining NFL trading cards with its signature Pop! figures.
Just in time for football season, Funko will launch NFL Pop! Trading Cards. These collectibles feature a large print of a Panini Prizm NFL trading card, which serves as the backdrop for a nonremovable, 3.75-inch Pop! figure of the athlete in the same pose.
The format and packaging are similar to Pop! Comic Book Covers and Pop! Albums, with the backdrop and the matching Pop! figure encased in a plastic display case. The sealed, 10.5-inch case for these figures can be hung on the wall or can sit on a shelf for display.
The first NFL players to be Funko-fied for the collection are Justin Herbert from the Los Angeles Chargers, Lamar Jackson from the Baltimore Ravens, Patrick Mahomes from the Kansas City Chiefs, and Tom Brady from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Each of these athletes will be available in a standard edition and as a special, Panini-exclusive version. The Panini-exclusive Pop! Trading Cards feature a golden-yellow border on the Prizm card background and an exclusive sticker on the packaging. The standard edition collectibles are available to preorder now for $19.99 each and are scheduled to ship in September. The Panini-exclusive collectibles will be available soon!
The NFL Pop! Trading Cards are the second sports-trading-card collectibles released by Funko, following the NBA Pop! Trading Cards that will launch next month.
