Another day, another round of gaming news to gather up from around the interwebs! Yesterday was full of game trailers and reveals — check out some of them below!

GHOST OF TSUSHIMA EXTENDED LOOK

Yesterday’s big event was a PlayStation State of Play for the upcoming Ghost of Tsushima, which is set to debut on July 17. The video event (above) featured about 18 minutes of new gameplay footage, including combat and world exploration. PlayStation also debuted a story trailer for the game, which got a bit overshadowed by the State of Play but legit looks like a movie trailer (any other Westworld fans feeling strong Shogun World vibes??). Check it out here.

BATTLE FOR BIKINI BOTTOM IN NEW SPONGEBOB GAMES

Heading to more family-friendly video game offerings, PlayStation also released a trailer for SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom — Rehydrated. This game, inspired by everyone’s favorite sea sponge, is heading to the PS4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and Microsoft Windows on June 23.

For Bikini Bottom fans who prefer mobile gaming, be sure to check out SpongeBob Krusty Cook Off, which launched earlier this week, free for iOS and Android devices. Check out the trailer here!

A MAGICAL NEW PUZZLE GAME

If you’re a mobile gamer and a Potterhead, this news is for you. Portkey Games released the first trailer for the upcoming Harry Potter: Puzzles & Spells game. The premise is simple, but it looks like a great option for Wizarding World fans who want a puzzle game to pass the time. There’s no release date for the game yet, but stay tuned!

SUMMER GAME FEST Q&A

Last night, Geoff Keighley went live for almost an hour, answering questions about Summer Game Fest and what fans can expect. He talks about COVID-19’s impact on the industry, the types of events fans can expect, and games he is looking forward to. You can check out the full livestream above.
