On your marks, get set… bake play!

Fans of The Great British Baking Show can now bring it home with a new board game from Ravensburger. The Great British Baking Show Game captures the delightfully British series with its time pressures, humor, and lovely illustrations.

For those unfamiliar, The Great British Baking Show is a competition series in which amateur bakers square off in three challenges: the signature bake, the technical bake, and the showstopper challenge. As a viewer — even if you can’t cook toast properly — you’ll find yourself yelling at the screen that the Fougasse is simply not up to par by the time you’re on the third episode.

In this new game, players put their “baking” skills to the test without entering a kitchen, as two to four people race to recreate the configuration of baking cards shown on the recipe cards. See how you really do under pressure by choosing whether to race to be done on time, or take the effort to select the best flavor for the bake. Beware of the dreaded soggy bottom!

Along with making you want to use the word “biscuit,” The Great British Baking Show features plenty of wholesome moments when the bakers help each other out. In the board game, players are going head-to-head, but they can use “Help!” cards to get an extra hand when needed. There’s also a “Bin” token (that’s how we’d say trash can if we didn’t win in 1776), which players can use to discard elements of their bake once per round.

Grab your favorite sweets (and some friends) and find the game on shelves this August.
