Wow, maybe my Hogwarts letter really did get lost in the mail.

With a swish and a flick, you—yes you!—can code your very own spells straight from the Wizarding World with the Harry Potter Kano Coding Kit.

In collaboration with Warner Bros. Consumer Products, this first-ever Harry Potter STEM product is a build-it-yourself wireless wand teaches users how to code with more than 70 challenges inspired by the Wizarding World. The wand works with software and a connected app to capture movements and turn them into special effects, such as making serpents slither, toads transfigure, fires flow, feathers float, goblets duplicate, Bertie Bott’s Every-Flavour Beans enlarge, and more.

Straight from the box, you can build the wand using a step-by-step coding manual and pieces such as a gyroscope, accelerometer, and magnetometer. Once assembled, download the Kano app to unlock challenges across six Wizarding World settings, including Hogwarts, Diagon Alley, Hogsmeade, and The Forbidden Forest. The challenges teach the fundamentals of coding and introduce the basic concepts of real-world programming using a block-based interface and a JavaScript inspector—AKA this is the real deal.

The kit is available for preorder today, and will be available globally on Oct. 1. Watch the magic for yourself below!
