Listen up, Studio Ghibli fans: If you’ve ever dreamed of having your fan art featured on licensed merch, now’s your chance!

The Howl’s Moving Castle Design Contest, presented by Her Universe and Fan Factory, is a contest that allows fans to submit original artwork and designs inspired by the anime film Howl’s Moving Castle for a chance to have their artwork featured on licensed merchandise.

The contest calls for fans to include designs pertaining to the characters, backgrounds, and story elements from Howl’s Moving Castle. The 2004 film is among the many popular anime films to come out of Japanese animation house Studio Ghibli.

The contest is open from now until April 7, and the fan voting period takes place from April 8-13. From April 14-June 14, a panel of judges will choose a grand prize winner and four runners up. The grand prize winner will receive a prize of $2,000, while the four runners up will each receive $300. If a submitted design is chosen to be featured on merchandise, there will be a separate agreement created with the artist.

The panel of judges includes Ashley Eckstein (actress and founder of Her Universe), Martin Hsu (president of Miyazaki Club), Noelle Wagner (Her Universe’s buyer and wholesale manager), and Felix Garibay (production artist at Hot Topic). All four judges are self-proclaimed mega-fans of Studio Ghibli films, as stated in their bios on the contest homepage.
