it chapter two

Pennywise has crept back to Derry and taken over the town — and the global box office — in just one weekend with It Chapter Two.

While the sequel’s debut couldn’t quite catch up to its 2017 predecessor, it still managed to top the weekend box office with an impressive $91 million domestic debut, according to Box Office Mojo.

Following the first flick’s stellar $123 million opening, Chapter Two joins the former as the first- and second-largest openings for a horror film and September debuts of all time.

The horror movie saw a successful global debut as well, earning $94 million across 75 markets. With its successful international and domestic openings, the film delivered $185 million in box office sales this weekend.
