Last week, it was a live-action Goosebumps reboot. This week — the world!
R.L. Stine is making a comeback with yet another TV series on the way based on the nostalgic tales from the spooky children’s book author. Goosebumps may be more well-known, but some may remember that Stine also penned a graphic novel series in the early 2000s from BOOM! Studios called Just Beyond, about a deadly creature stalking middle school halls.
Disney+ has ordered an eight-episode series of the same name, created by writer Seth Grahame-Smith and produced by 20th Century Fox Television. Grahame-Smith has a history of combining horror and comedy, as the author of the novels Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, and screenwriter of Tim Burton’s Dark Shadows and The LEGO Batman Movie.
Disney+ will target the anthology series toward both kids and adults so that families can watch together. Just Beyond is expected to premiere in the fall of next year.
