Some fans were disappointed in the final product of Justice League, and one the movie’s own story board artists is one of them.

Justice League effectively ended Zack Snyder’s vision for the DC Comics Universe. Snyder was reportedly fired from the movie at some point, with Joss Whedon determining the film’s final direction.

Jay Oliva, the storyboard artist who worked on the section of the film from when the heroes arrive at the nuclear reactor to the end of the fight, says that he was surprised by some of the plot points when he watched the completed movie.

“I was really looking forward to seeing it because I’ve done some crazy stuff,” he said. “I tried to top what I’ve done with Superman. When Superman comes back, I had done some really crazy stuff like Superman unhinged.”

Removing an unhinged Superman isn’t the only change to Snyder’s vision for the DC movies. According to Snyder himself, Batman was set to die in a later movie.

Now, with rumors of Henry Cavil leaving his role as Superman and Ben Affleck in rehab, the future of the DC Universe is uncertain.

Here’s hoping Aquaman and Wonder Woman 1984 can turn things around.
