After the second season of Krypton concluded earlier this year, Syfy confirmed the series will not be returning to the network, according to Variety.

In addition, Syfy — owned by NBCUniversal — has confirmed they will not be moving forward with a Lobo spinoff as initially planned. The spinoff was previously announced in June and starred Emmett J. Scanlan’s character. According to Variety’s sources, Warner Horizon Television plans to shop the new pilot to other outlets.

Krypton was set two generations before Superman’s home planet was destroyed and followed a young version of his grandfather Seg-El (Cameron Cuffe) in an attempt to save his home planet. The first season is currently available to stream on DC Universe, with the second set to arrive on the platform next year.

Hear that Krypton fans? Don’t abandon all hope yet; you may just see Seg-El save the day again! Following the news, the fans even created a change.org petition to bring the show back for additional episodes. With more than 1,000 passionate supporters backing the cause, only time will tell if the network or another will un-cancel the program and give us the content we want.
