Do you think you have what it takes to create the next R2-D2, C-3PO, or D-O? If so, you can put your droid-building skills to the test with an exciting new contest from Lucasfilm.

For the “Build my Droid” competition — which is open to anyone ages 16 and up — participants design an original droid with a drawing, painting, or sketch. Interested droid designers can submit their entries at buildmydroidcontest.com from now through Nov. 13.

The contest judges are Star Wars special makeup effects supervisor Neal Scanlan, Lucasfilm vice president John Swartz, Lucasfilm senior creative executive Pablo Hidalgo, actress/STEM advocate/Star Wars fan Mayim Bialik, and inventor Dean Kamen. Kamen’s robotics organization, FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology), is co-sponsoring the contest with Lucasfilm’s Force for Change initiative.

The winning droid will be included in an upcoming Star Wars project and will debut at the premiere The Rise of Skywalker in December. The droid’s designer will also win two tickets to the premiere, so they can see their droid unveiled.
