With most live sporting events canceled right now due to the COVID-19 pandemic — including physical sports and esports alike — Super League Gaming and USA Today Sports Media Group are partnering for an event packed with football, brackets, and live coverage: A Madden NFL 20 esports tournament.

The tournament is free to enter, kicking off on Monday, July 6. Anyone (ages 13 and up) can play, and the competition will include three phases. From July 6-26, players will be put in 64-person groups within the North, East, South, or West conference. They’ll play Best of Three matches against other players in the group — using their own Xbox systems via Xbox Live— and the top player from each group will move on to the playoffs. The playoffs will be on Aug. 1, when eight players from each conference will compete to determine the final four (one from each conference). Then, on Aug. 2, the final four will compete for a portion of a $10,000 prize pool.

Throughout all of this, USA Today Sports and For the Win will provide coverage, bracket updates, and highlights from the tournament.

Anyone who wants to enter the tournament can do so here. Check out the FAQ page for more detailed rules and regulations and join the Super League Gaming Discord page to find other players in the tournament!
