MAR10 Day (aka March 10) is almost upon us so let’s shout a big “WA-HOO!!!” There’s no better way to honor everyone’s favorite mustachioed hero than by playing some of his newest titles on your Nintendo Switch. Nintendo plans to celebrate the date that looks like Mario’s name with special savings, in-game events, and more.
To keep the Super Mario Bros.’ 35th-anniversary celebration going strong, Nintendo has a selection of games and merchandise on sale until March 13 at 11:59 p.m. PT. Head over to the Nintendo eShop or select retailers to get 35% off games featuring Mario and Luigi, including Super Mario Maker 2, Mario Tennis Aces, Super Mario Party, and Luigi’s Mansion 3. You can also snag Super Mario Bros. 35th-anniversary-themed items — such as hats, T-shirts, and pin sets — at a 35% discount. Your main place to shop is at store.nintendo.com, unless you’re in New York City and can make your way to the Nintendo World Store in Rockefeller Center.
There are plenty of Mario-themed, in-game events to help celebrate this fan holiday, too. A special Mario Tour will be available in the Mario Kart Tour mobile app from March 9-23. The tour will include new drivers, karts, and gliders. The Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp app will also feature a crossover event for your campers. Log in with your My Nintendo account during the event — which runs until March 23 — for specific missions and an in-game Mario hat cushion. There will also be special poses available for Fave Photos, and some past event items will be available. Finally, head over to Animal Crossing: New Horizons on the Nintendo Switch to order up some new Super Mario Bros. 35th-anniversary-themed items for your island. You can get ? blocks, character outfits, and even warp pipes that you can use to get around your island.
You can really show off your Mario love with the Nintendo Switch Mario Red & Blue Edition, which is back in stock in limited quantities. This limited-edition system is available for $299.99 at the Nintendo Store, GameStop, Target, and Walmart. The themed Switch is decked out in Mario’s classic colors, with bright red Joy-Cons, blue wrist straps, a red dock, and blue Joy-Con accessory grips.
