Mattel Creations is teaming up with Pop Surrealist artist Mark Ryden to make a line of Barbie dolls and accompanying artwork that are campy, magical, and fun.

Each piece of the Pink Pop art collection has a Barbie doll equivalent that will be available exclusively at the Pink Pop exhibition at Kasmin Gallery in Los Angeles for one week, starting on Nov. 11. Then, starting on Nov. 18, the dolls will be available at mattelcreations.com. The collection also includes merch, such as postcards, enamel pins, a handbag, and more! The entire Pink Pop art collection will be on display at the gallery from Nov. 11 to Dec. 11.

The crazy, sweet centerpiece for the Pink Pop collection is the PinkPop painting, which brings Ryden’s zany vision to the world of Barbie. The painting takes viewers into a town where pink, white, and red are the only colors allowed. The matching doll is decked in varying shades of pink, from her heart-studded dress and striped tights to her larger-than-life hairdo.

The Surrealist Ball painting, a grayscale piece that plays with lighting and shape, has two dolls that accompany it. The dolls are each other’s opposite — one light and one dark. The light doll has pale skin and hair and is dressed in a skirt that features symbols like crowns, skulls, suns, moons, and more. The dark doll has dark skin and hair with a skirt that is covered in eyes.

The Barbie Bee painting and doll both give off Alice in Wonderland vibes. The painting is filled with lush plant life, but the insects have human faces that add a unique twist. The doll is covered head-to-toe in black and yellow fuzz and has its own set of wings, ready to curl up on a flower and pollinate!

Finally, the Nature Queen is a sculpture of a Barbie doll that is in communion with nature. Her bronze dress is covered with insects and other creatures that worship her. This sculpture is miniaturized into doll form, but its unique artistic style is still larger-than-life.

Whether you’re a fan of pink, Barbie, or fine artwork, the Pink Pop collection has something that’s bound to catch your eye.
