Some of the world’s favorite superheroes are getting their own black-light spotlight! Marvel is taking it back to the ‘70s with a new black light poster book for both new and old generations of comic book fanatics!
Back in 1971, iconic Marvel artists — including Jack Kirby, Gene Colan, and Tom Palmer — illustrated a series of black light posters originally produced by Third Eye. Now, Marvel Entertainment is celebrating 50 years of that iconic poster collection by partnering with Abrams ComicArts to release a book featuring 12 rare images from that original series of 24 black light posters.
Inside the book, fans will find black light posters of popular comic book characters including Captain America, Spider-Man, the Incredible Hulk, Thor, Iron Man, the Fantastic Four, and Doctor Strange. The back of each poster also features the story behind the image and original comic book art by former Marvel Editor-in-Chief Roy Thomas. The standard 20-by-30 inch posters make them perfect for framing. The collection also comes inside a specially designed keepsake box for safe storage.
The Marvel Classic Black Light Collectible Poster Portfolio will be available to purchase on Oct. 26 for $125, and it is available to preorder now.
