A lot of Marvel fans are all-in for a new dice game from Roxley and The Op — more than 17,200 of them to be precise.

The Kickstarter campaign for Marvel Dice Throne launched just over two weeks ago on Oct. 25, and it has since raised a whopping $1,798,064 (at the time of writing) with three days still to go. That is far beyond its original goal of $100,000, and the number just keeps going up. That means fans can almost certainly expect this new game to become a reality.

This game name may ring a bell, and that’s because this launch is an expansion of Roxley Games’ existing Dice Throne series. For those who may not be familiar, Dice Throne is described on its about page as “Yahtzee meets Magic: The Gathering.” The fast-paced game is designed for 2-6 players and features a combination of card play and dice manipulation. The gaming system, which got its start on Kickstarter, features different, standalone heroes that are all cross-compatible with other heroes in the gaming system.

Now, the Dice Throne team is taking the word “hero” a bit more literally with this Marvel expansion. Eight Marvel Comics characters are set to join the Dice Throne universe as compatible heroes: Miles Morales’ Spider-Man, Scarlet Witch, Thor, Black Widow, Doctor Strange, Loki, Captain Marvel, and Black Panther. They each bring different play mechanisms, skills, and complexity levels to gameplay through bold, illustrated game components. The game is also designed to be easy to learn, which means it’s a must-have even for Marvel fans who have never played Dice Throne before.

Until the Kickstarter closes at 12 a.m. ET on Nov. 15, fans can back the game in order to secure their own copy. For $85, backers will get a limited-edition Marvel Dice Throne Battle Chest — which comes with all eight characters in one illustrated box — and a Marvel Dice Throne Promo Card Pack. Additional pledge levels add more goodies to the game, including playmats, card sleeves, and dice trays. Backers are expected to receive the Marvel Dice Throne Battle Chest by next summer.
