Mattel Creations is body-slammin’ its way into Comic-Con@Home!

After releasing a stacked lineup of exclusive collectibles for the virtual convention (which dropped yesterday and are selling out fast!), the company has some plans in store for the convention itself. Most notably, Mattel Creations is launching its first crowdfunded collectible today.

The campaign is a partnership with WWE, seeking backers for the WWE Ultimate New Generation Arena (pictured above). This set will feature a New Generation entrance stage that is scaled to Mattel’s WWE action figures, complete with fabric curtains and a light-up frame with multiple pattern loops. The ring itself is constructed like a real WWE ring, with a plank base, a sculpted frame, fabric turnbuckles, and more. The set also comes with an Ultimate Edition Diesel figure. This is the first time “Big Daddy Cool” has gotten the Ultimates treatment, and he comes with a swappable head, replaceable hands, and his signature entrance vest.

Starting today at 2 p.m. ET, this campaign will be live on mattelcreations.com. To produce the set, Mattel needs at least 5,000 backers at $250 each before Aug. 22.

While the basic details for this crowdfunded collectible are available now, Mattel will reveal additional tiers and more information this afternoon at the Mattel & WWE Elite Squad Fan Panel for Comic-Con@Home. The panel will feature Mattel’s Bill Miekina and Steve Ozer, along with WWE Superstars Bianca Belair, Johnny Gargano, Dominik Mysterio, and Adam Cole. It is scheduled to stream on the Comic-Con YouTube channel today at 2 p.m. ET.

That isn’t the only Mattel panel happening during this year’s virtual Comic-Con International: San Diego (SDCC). Today, fans can catch a Masters of the Universe: Revelation panel at 3 p.m. ET, and a Mega Contrux panel (which will take a closer look at the Kozik x MOTU collab and give a first look at upcoming Halo and Pokémon sets) at 4 p.m. ET.

Tomorrow, July 24, at 4 p.m. ET, Mattel’s Hot Wheels team will host a panel to give fans a behind-the-scenes look at the making of this year’s SDCC exclusives, a first look at new products, and more.
