Okay, sorry that didn’t rhyme. But that doesn’t make it any less exciting that Mattel has kicked off 12 Days of Fandom, an online fan event that will feature a variety of new product reveals, including Comic-Con@Home exclusives. The Comic-Con@Home exclusives will all be available to preorder from mattelcreations.com starting on Thursday, July 22 at 9 a.m. PT/noon ET.
WWE Ultimate Edition Sgt. Slaughter
The first reveal was the previously mentioned WWE Ultimate Edition Sgt. Slaughter figure, which will cost $35 and features an extra head, swappable hands, and entrance gear. The collectible comes in nostalgic, ’80s-inspired packaging that is ideal for display. However, those who decide to take Sgt. Slaughter out of the box will discover that the 6-inch figure has more than 30 points of articulation for some serious posing action.
Jurassic Park Final Scene Ray Arnold
The second reveal is a Jurassic Park Final Scene Ray Arnold set, which imagines a moment that took place off-screen in Jurassic Park: when Chief Engineer John Raymond Arnold goes to the maintenance shed to reboot the power. The set costs $25 and comes in packaging that recreates the maintenance shed, complete with light and sound effects. Inside, collectors will find a 3.75-inch figure of Arnold with a removable arm and a Velociraptor figure that’s 7 inches long.
Pixar UP: Kevin & Babies Pack
Wednesday’s SDCC@Home exclusive reveal is an epic new addition to Mattel’s Pixar Spotlight Series. The Pixar UP: Kevin & Babies Pack comes with an articulated figure of the colorful, elusive bird from Up. The set also includes flocked figures of her three tiny babies — each with a different expression — and a chocolate bar accessory (stolen from Russell, of course). The set comes in window packaging with a Paradise Falls background and will cost $40.
Hot Wheels DC Batman 1st Appearance Batmobile
Mattel has not one, but THREE Hot Wheels Comic-Con@Home exclusives this year, each inspired by a favorite fandom. First up is the Hot Wheels DC Batman 1st Appearance Batmobile, which (as the name implies) is inspired by the 80th anniversary of the car’s first appearance in DC Comics. The collectible will cost $20 and comes in packaging inspired by the cover of that debut issue.
Hot Wheels Comic-Con Star Wars Darth Vader Comic Cover
The second Hot Wheels exclusive keeps the comic book theme going! The Hot Wheels Comic-Con Star Wars Darth Vader Comic Cover is inspired by the iconic Star Wars No. 1 comic, which depicts a green Darth Vader. The collectible car ($15) comes packaged in a box modeled after the comic and is sculpted to resemble Vader’s helmet.
Hot Wheels Comic-Con Marvel Deadpool Birthday Scooter
Celebrate Deadpool’s 30th anniversary with this version of the scooter that the Merc with a Mouth uses in the Deadpool movies. The collectible will cost $25 and comes in packaging that doubles as a display case!
Hot Wheels Comic Con Masters Of The Universe Wind Raider vs Land Shark
The next round of Mattel exclusives are inspired by Masters of the Universe (MOTU). First up is a set of two Hot Wheels collectibles that recreate Wind Raider (the powerful Eternian jet) and Land Shark (a shark-like tank that terrorizes Eternia). Both die-cast vehicles are inspired by their original appearances from the ’80s and have He-Man and Skeletor mini-figures seated inside them.
MEGA Collabs. Masters of the Universe Battle Labbit
Fandoms collide with this exclusive! Mattel brought together Frank Kozik’s Labbit and MOTU for this buildable Battle Labbit, which pays tribute to Battle Cat as it will appear in the upcoming Netflix Animated series Masters of the Universe: Revelation. This art toy build will cost $50.
Masters of the Universe Masterverse Revelation Scare Glow Action Figure
Masterverse is a new line of MOTU action figures, with the first wave inspired by Masters of the Universe: Revelation. This collector’s edition of Scare Glow features 30 points of articulation, a posable cape, his scythe of doom, and swappable hands. The figure comes in special LED packaging that helps highlight the figure’s glow-in-the-dark effects. This collectible will cost $35
Remember, all of these Comic-Con@Home exclusives will all be available to preorder from mattelcreations.com starting on Thursday, July 22 at 9 a.m. PT/noon ET!
