Guess who’s back, back again? Virtual conventions!
Despite New York Comic Con (NYCC) being on track to take place in person next week, quite a few collectibles companies are opting out of the show floor and opting in for another round of virtual fan events. This includes both Mezco Toyz and Super7, which will both host online conventions during the first week of October.
First up is Mezco Con 2021: Fall Edition, which will run from Oct. 1-3. During this three-day event, fans can tune in for games, contests, and product reveals. As with previous Mezco Con events, the con will kick off with a preview night on Oct. 1, when Mezco will reveal the Mezco Con exclusive. Then, fans can tune in for Super7’s “Wish We Were There-ic-Con,” which will take place on Tuesday, Oct. 5. There will be multiple exclusives available as part of this event, which Super7 is revealing via Instagram. So far these include a Papa Emeritus II ReAction figure and a Radioactive Green Czarface ReAction figure (plus a matching T-shirt). The Wish We Were There-ic-Con exclusives will be available starting at 10 a.m. PT on Oct. 5.
Funko is also slated to have a virtual convention in place of NYCC, although the company has not published additional details at this time.
