Mortal Kombat expands into new worlds with Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath — due out digitally on May 26.
The video game will take place where Mortal Kombat 11 left off last year, following Fire God Liu Kang — the new keeper of time and protector of the Earth Realm — as he enlists unlikely allies and former foes to save two worlds with their fate uncertain.
Along with familiar characters like Fujin and Sheeva, Robocop will also be making his first appearance in the franchise. The cyber-saver features the voice and likeness of Peter Weller, who played the character in the original Robocop film and sequel. Check him out in the trailer below.
Fans who already own Mortal Kombat 11 will have access to new stages — and, yes, that includes the return of the Klassic Dead Pool and Soul Chambers arenas. Features such as the Friendships feature (which gave new meaning to kill ‘em with kindness in the 90s) and Stage Fatalities will become available as a free content update when Aftermath comes out.
The expansion will be available on all major entertainment systems and all digital preorders (for $59.99) come with immediate access to Mortal Kombat 11 and the “Kombat Pack,” which includes six new characters and 25 new skins. Fans who have been playing Mortal Kombat 11 for the last 15 months can order just the expansion for $39.99 or the bundle with the “Kombat Pack” for $49.99.
