Tickets are on sale now for “The Studio @ NYCC,” a new, exclusive event series debuting October 4-7 at Shop Studios (528 W 39th St.). Developed for New York Comic Con in conjunction with the Motion Picture Association of America, the series will offer intimate master classes, workshops, and exclusive conversations with creators in the entertainment industry.
The series’ headliner event on October 6 will be a rare appearance by Eisner Award-winning artist Alex Ross. Ross will discuss his new Marvel-based book, Marvelocity, and hold a signing session afterward.
Other events in the lineup include a master class with the Handmaid’s Tale costume designer, a workshop about unarmed combat for the screen, and a conversation with the authors of The Adventure Zone graphic novels.
The masterclasses will allow creators to share their experiences and tips, whereas the workshops provide a hands-on learning experience for fans and students interested in creating.
Admission prices for the events already announced range from $20 to $75 per person. The events do not require a New York Comic Con badge for admission, so they are accessible to the general public.
