Power Rangers Disguise

New York Comic Con (NYCC) 2019 was a wild ride full of parties, panels, prizes, and more. Here’s a recap of everything that went down with the Pop Insider ICYMI.

The Pop Insider Yotel Party

We started the party early last Wednesday at our “Level Up” con kick-off party at Yotel New York, where we had a Power Rangers relay race with costumes from Disguise, arcade games from Basic Fun! and AtGames, a cool new game from WowWee called Bad Aim, Spin Master’s creepy-cute Fugglers, and some hilarious Mad Libs floating around and on the walls. Props to all of the awesome cosplayers and Cosplayers Getting Coffee! A portion of all ticket sales will be donated to Stan Lee Foundation, a non-profit organization founded by Stan Lee in 2010 that helps provide access to literacy, education, and the arts throughout the U.S.

We launched our con-exclusive print issue at the party. You may have seen it floating around NYCC — it’s the one with the NY Avengers on the cover (featuring incredible photos by @cosbotphotography). You can find our geeky holiday gift guide inside, with a cover by the talented Mitchel Wu.

Unicron

Tons of peeps dropped by our booth to check out the Transformers: War For Cybertron Unicron prototype from Hasbro, which is officially going into production thanks to the thousands of fans who helped fund it.

Attendees took a spin on our prize wheel and tried their luck at our Tap2Win prizing station for a chance to win Mitchel Wu prints of our holiday gift guide cover, exclusive Transformers Unicron artwork from Hasbro, Hallmark keepsake ornaments, Super Impulse Micro Arcades, Care Bears mystery prizes from Cloudco, PJ Masks fun packs from Entertainment One, CultureFly boxes and accessories, and Super Dino Lunchbags from Spin Master. Cosplayers Getting Coffee filmed at our booth, and the Care Bears had a meet and greet for fans.

From Fan Girl to Girl Boss

The Pop Insider’s Editor-in-Chief Marissa DiBartolo rocked her panel on Saturday, spitting wisdom and sharing tips on how to go “From Fan Girl to Girl Boss.”

We covered plenty of other panels as well, including SpongeBob Appreciation Day, the Hobbits reunion, the new Batwoman series, and the upcoming Walking Dead spinoff. Click here to check out all the NYCC exclusives, news, and panels you may have missed.
