Pokémon announced its new TCG expansion, Sword & Shield — Fusion Strike | The Pokémon Company International/the Pop Insider

The Pokémon Company International is launching a new expansion for its Pokémon Trading Card Game (TCG)!

The series is called Sword & Shield — Fusion Strike and will introduce Fusion Strike Style, a new Battle Styles gameplay mechanic. These new Fusion Strike Pokémon’s attacks often focus on teamwork, meaning that they do better when other Pokémon with this Battle Style are in play.

Featuring a hint of purple and pink, the Fusion Strike Style will also appear on Trainer and Special Energy cards, which will assist Pokémon of that Battle Style and allow Pokémon fans to build their own Fusion Strike Style decks. Trainers can find the Fusion Strike Style cards in booster packs, Elite Trainer Boxes, and special collections.

This expansion features 25 Fusion Strike cards, including Mew VMAX, Genesect V, Hoopa V, and more. Trainers can also play with 20 Pokémon V and 13 full-art Pokémon V cards, eight Pokémon VMAX cards, 20 Trainer cards, and seven full-art Supporter cards, as well as one Special Energy card.

The Pokémon TCG: Sword & Shield — Fusion Strike line will launch worldwide on Nov. 12 wherever Pokémon cards are sold, but trainers interested in playing with the expansion before launch day can do so with the Sword & Shield Fusion Strike Build & Battle Box, which launches on Oct. 30. This Build & Battle Box includes four Sword & Shield — Fusion Strike booster packs, a 23-card Evolution pack, and a deck-building tip sheet. Additionally, the Sword & Shield Fusion Strike Build & Battle Stadium will launch on Nov. 26, making two-player gameplay easier.

With so many new ways to play, it’s clear that you’ll just have to catch ’em all. For more information about this expansion and all Pokémon TCG updates, head to tcg.pokemon.com.
