Well folks, it finally premiered! Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker premiered this week in Los Angeles. The film hasn’t released nationwide yet, but fans can ride on the coattails of people who’ve seen the film already to get an idea of how it is. We can’t give you a review of the film, but we can share some spoiler-free fan reactions. Don’t make a visit to Twitter if you want to see the movie without having anything ruined for you. (Trust me on this one: I ventured into the unknown and suffered so you don’t have to.)

So far, movie reviews from fans and professional critics are mixed to positive. There are a few fans who are displeased with the conclusion of the trilogy, but that was an uncommon review. The Star Wars Twitter tag is filled with gorgeous shots of movie posters, cosplayers at the premiere, and our favorite space cast dressed to impress on a blue carpet leading into the theatre.

“Epic. All of it. #TheRiseofSkywalker is a terrific finale that is just stuffed with so much of everything. Action, adventure — answers!! — humor, heart, love, and grit.”  says Erik Davis of Fandango

From what I can see on Twitter, Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker may be the epic conclusion fans are yearning for, but the conflicted reviews mean it could be a very unexpected ending.

“The emotional highs are spectacular, and there are a lot of payoffs (some earned, some not). But some choices feel like an unnecessary course-correct from The Last Jedi, and some just plain don’t make sense,” says Laura Prudom of IGN.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker officially releases on Friday, so we don’t have to wait long to form our own opinions of the film. In the meantime, here are some spoiler-free Tweets to #fuelyoufandom hype.
